Puuc Biocultural State Reserve

The following maps report the emerging trends in forest loss observed inside and outside (25 km buffer) of the Puuc Biocultural State Reserve, as well as estimates of aboveground carbon density and plant species richness.

These spatio-temporal trends were quantified from the annual forest loss dataset (2000-2023) using the Emerging Hotspot Analysis tool in ArcGIS Pro (ESRI). Carbon density and species richness estimates were obtained through spatial regression modeling using field data and spaceborne radar and optical imagery.
